Bright Winter is a Neutral Season, meaning that its colours (and those of the members of this colouring group) are a combination of the True Winter palette with a smaller contribution from Spring.
Colours are neutral to cool, clear and bright, and range from angel white to darkest charcoal black.
For all of us, makeup looks most natural and healthy when we wear our flesh tones. For Bright Winter, these span within a gradient of red coral to maraschino red for blush and lip colours.
Grays (for neutral eyeshadow, eyeshadow highlight, and eyeliner) include ice gray, crystal, light greenish gray-beige, steel, and charcoal with a dark teal cast. The Season also includes cool dark browns with a purple cast, which may repeat the same tones in the hair or emphasize the yellow in brown eyes.
Together, these colours create the ideal composition for this lightest of the Winters, in a contrasting, bright effect with accents of pure, almost candied, colours.
The most attractive reflectivity in cosmetics ranges from matte to high smooth shine. The nature of Winter colours tolerate extremes well, and Spring is made for transparency and glow. Matte always works in cosmetics but for lips at least, a juicy or shimmered shine heightens the beauty of the colours.
